Reopening Update – Wednesday 2nd December 2020
Not long until Lockdown 2.0 comes to an end now which means we are able to reopen our doors bright & early from 6am on Wednesday 2nd December and we can’t wait to welcome you back!
UPDATE & NEWS
We’ve been pretty busy during the last month with plans (more on these below) for the coming months and getting things ready for reopening, but visiting-wise and taking part-wise, actually not a whole lot has changed since pre-lockdown. We’ll continue with social distancing & hygiene guidelines and operating the one-way system around the building. Needless to say please only visit us if you are symptom-free and are able to comply with the rules and guidelines. One notable change to our rules is we now request that all participants over school age wear a face covering at all times (unless climbing, sat in the CafeBar or of course are exempt from wearing a mask). So this applies to when you’re making your way around the centre, when belaying and watching or waiting on the mats – please, please, please make sure you cover up!
Most of our focus during the closure has been on our walls – we’ve had a delivery of lovely new holds and reset various parts of the Main Arena, and both bouldering areas up on Level 2 and across the Bouldering Floor so there’s plenty to look forward too upon your return.
Looking forward, we have a number of notable things on the horizon for the end of this year and for the start of 2021, such as…
- Christmas – the festive period looks like it going to be pretty different for 2020 and we’re watching how things develop in regard to COVID guidelines. We won’t be open on the 25th this year but we are going to offer enough spaces to match demand even with our restricted capacity. This could mean longer days, or more days!
- Water Bottles – we’re running a special offer on our Warehouse water bottles at the moment meaning you can Buy One, Get One HALF PRICE! See posters in the Centre for more details. If you already have one then they come in as handy stocking fillers! We’re also offering a FREE bottle to everyone who signs up for new Membership.
- Boulder Comp – We were gutted we couldn’t hold our annual Boulder Comp due to the pandemic, however we have plans to run something, albeit slightly differently, next year. All being well, it will be starting up in January.
- Lead Ladder – We’re not quite sure when yet but we’re also looking at restarting our Lead Ladder back up in early 2021!
- Toddler Mini Mice Sessions – yes, our Under 5’s sessions are back! We were just about to announce that toddler sessions would be running again when the lockdown was announced, scuppering our best laid plans. However, we’re delighted we will be able to start running Mini Mice again soon. If all goes to plan this time, sessions should restart early in the new year.
We will bring you much more details on each of these in the coming weeks so please keep an eye out.
NICAS/NIBAS
The new term starts up in January as planned, but to get you ready for 2021 (and to catch up on the lost sessions during our closure), we will be running free Winter Warmer Catch Up Sessions for all our NICAS/NIBAS participants during December. Booking for these is open – please see the email sent 06.11.20 for all the details and your all important individual booking codes!
MEMBERSHIPS & PAYMENTS
All membership payments (those for monthly, annual and squad members) will be unfrozen and start back up from January 2021 onwards. No dues will be charged for this December. All this of this will happen automatically so just leave it with us, you don’t need to do a thing.

Following the first lockdown in March, we went to great lengths to make The Warehouse as COVID-secure as possible and these measures remain in place so we are ready & raring to reopen on December 2nd.
