Guided Photography in Snowdonia

0 5

I have spent the last couple of days out with Steve who booked me for a couple of guided photography days in Snowdonia. Steve has been a regular face on our courses and trips over the years and it is always great to catch up – I will never forget the night we shared at high camp on Kilimanjaro, we had a memorable breakfast that day ????

We met on Tuesday in Rhyd Ddu with a plan of heading over the Nantlle Ridge and shooting what we saw along the way. Unfortunately the weather had other ideas and so plan C saw us head to the coast on Anglesey to shoot Penmon Lighthouse. This is a bit of a cliche spot for photography but sometimes things are cliche for a reason and it seemed to be the only place we were going to stay dry. We got some nice shots and then headed into the mountains to shoot from Moel Y Ci into the Carneddau as the clouds passed through and the light improved.

Yesterday we walked up onto Elidir Fach and shot the slate quarries in the morning before heading over to Marchlyn Mawr and Carnedd Y Filiast in the afternoon. The skies clouded over as the day progressed so we didn’t get the magic golden hour but we were pleased to get some moody light throughout the day and it was a great exercise in shooting with what you have. A lovely couple of days – thanks very much Steve.
