We’re Good to Go

0 8

As lockdown measures ease in Wales we are now getting back to work! Hoorah!

We are providing private guiding on a 1:1 basis (or 1:2 for members of the same household) from the 13th July which is when self catering accommodation is allowed to re-open in Wales and there is no restriction on travel.

ACCOMMODATION

We have updated our page on accommodation options locally here.

PRACTICAL MEASURES

We are offering walking, scrambling and mountain biking with the following measures in place to make activities Covid secure:

  • There will be no indoor element to our days – we will meet outside and all of the activity will take place outside
  • We will not share vehicles so you will need your own transport
  • We will keep 2 metres apart wherever possible
  • We will use pre-course questionnaires to ensure people do not have symptoms prior to joining the course
  • We will avoid the sharing of equipment, food, water etc
  • We will avoid the busy honeypots
  • We will work 1:1 or 1:2 to manage social distancing and environmental impact

We will continue to follow Government Guidance with the aim of being socially responsible, safe, lawful and realistic in what we are able to provide as things move forward. The activities that we offer will be carried out in accordance with AMI guidelines

FINANCIAL CHANGES

Bookings during the Pandemic will be subject to revised terms and conditions where there is no financial penalty for cancelling due to ill health and you are asked to complete a pre-course questionnaire and bring specialist equipment with you. You will also need your own transport. Read Details.

TIMESCALES

We have taken the decision not to offer open courses for the months of July, August and September. At the moment the law in Wales only allows two households to meet and this needs to change before we can open our normal courses. Open courses will be re-advertised when we are satisfied that we can run them responsibly, safely, lawfully and realistically. This includes our Mountain Leader training and assessment courses which also require approval from MTUK. At the moment are looking at October but this is obviously subject to review. We will keep people up to date via this page, Facebook and our mailing list.
