Through the Mist to Bruach na Frithe

0 3

It didn’t really rain at any point today but up above the cloud level the rock has been pretty wet and skittery.  The first part of our day was unaffected though; the relatively low level scramble up The Spur of Sgurr an Fheadain. From its tiny summit Tom, Laura and myself carried on up into the mist, skirting Bidean Druim nan Ramh on its western side and leaving its wonderfully pinnacled crest for a drier occasion. Once into Bealach Harta we carefully picked our way over An Caisteal crossing its three deep clefts. A short abseil dispatched the final difficulty leaving just the long scramble to the day’s Munro high point of Bruach na Frithe.
