Newsletter Week 12
Dear LUMC Members,
It's week 12, into snow drifts you shouldn't delve... Come to the avalanche talk and find out how best to avoid that! As always there many things afoot of varying styles, have a look below to find out when and where. To go along side the Facebook blizzard (hehe) of posts, here is yet another reminder that hustings is nearly here. You wouldn't think we would be trying this hard to get ourselves out of a job, but we thought it might be fair at least...
Upcoming Events:
Team Training, 08:00, Tue 22nd: Our get strong opportunities are back in business! Come along to learn the ways, and then practice them too.
Climber's Lunch & Climber's Climbing, 13:00, Wed 23rd: Meet up in County bar for some lunch and a chatter, before heading to the wall for our usual social climbing afternoon. Please let us know before hand if you would like instruction in top roping and belaying, as the exec may not always be able to make this.
Avalanche Talk, 19:00, Wed 23rd: Super useful, super important, everyone should come along! If you have the faintest hint of going out on a winter trip, this should be top priority, and it's being run by Paddy who the winter skills people will know and love so there's no reason not to come along. Furness LT 2, and we will be heading to a bar afterwards.
BUK, 17:30, Thur 24th: Thursday can only mean one thing, the Preston Pilgrimage of Pro's. Make sure to book your tickets as always. 17:30 at Alex Sq, or 18:30 at hitchhikers post. Oh also Spoons, but does that even need a reminder?
Day Trip, Sat 26th: As yet undecided location, but don't you worry, we promise it will be somewhere groovy. Currently looking like either some wintery scrambling, or climbing if the weather looks a bit better
Team Training, 16:00, Sun 27th: Go on, there's still some of the week left, you can still climb that little bit more. Go oonnnnn.

Come Dine With Me, 18:00, Wed 30th Jan: As the final social with the current exec, we’re doing what we do best… EATING! We’ll be taking a small tour of various exec members’ houses, where you’ll be served a different course at each, before ending the evening in Spoons.

Come Climb With Me, 19:00, Wed 13th Feb: For the first year ever (or in a while at least), we’re hosting a vaguely Valentine’s Day themed social! Cupid’s random(ish) name generator will be pairing you up for the evening, where you’ll be completing a series of climbing challenges together. Think blindfolded climbing, acroyoga, etc. There will also be a prize for the best paired costume! We’ll probably head into town afterwards, but as it’s midweek it’ll probably only be for some chilled drinks.
Wales Weekend Away, Fri 22nd-Sun 24th Feb: Our next big adventure awaits! Stay tuned...
T-shirts: There are still plenty of club t-shirts for sale, show your love for your favourite club in fancy fancy style.
Sweatshirts: If t-shirts aren't your thing, or maybe you want something a little extra, club sweatshirts are on the way! In two colours! Honestly the things we do for you... Once we've got enough requests we will place our order with the company that does them.
