The Vysoke Tatry (High Tatra) are a great range of mountains in Eastern Europe. The spine of the mountain range forms the border between Poland and Slovakia and offers some fabulous winter climbing mainly on snowed up turfy rock. There are also some fairly amenable icefalls. Wizzair flies from Luton to Poprad-Tatry airport. From there it is a 20 mins taxi ride to the start of the walk-in to Chata Pri Zelenom Plese (hut by the green lake) which gives easy access to a great number of winter routes from grade 3 upwards. A great place.
