Well, this may indeed be caused by climbing. The next time you climb, you'd better make sure that your upper back muscles are not damaged. Yoga and stretching are the first things to consider. Second, you can use a neck heating pad to relieve upper back pain. If you feel very painful, please contact a physical therapist immediately and good luck.
