Background Screening Must Be Completed by November 30
The following message is an important reminder regarding the Background Screening requirement for all officials who were at least 18 years of age or older on August 1st, 2014.
Background Screening Policy
Per the Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association (AAHA) policy, all officials meeting the established age level are required to submit to a Background Screening that is performed by Sterling Infosystems.
The screening is required by all officials working games within the Atlantic Affiliate who are 18 years of age or older as of August 1st, 2014.
The screening MUST be completed no later than November 30th, 2014 in order to continue receiving officiating assignments in the Atlantic District. This date coincides with the deadline for all other officiating coursework for the 2014-15 season.
Instructions for Submitting a Background Screening
In order to successfully submit a Background Screening, you should refer to the AAHA Officiating Background Screening Instructions.
Please pay particular attention to the Partner Code (USAH1133) and the Company ID(OFFICIAL). These fields must be entered correctly in order to successfully request a screening and insure proper tracking through the AAHA.
Also, even if you have submitted a Background Screening previous to this season, you may be required to register with Sterling as a New User per the instructions referred to above.
If you experience any difficulties with the process of logging in and requesting a Background Screening, please follow the instructions listed on Page 7 of the instructions under the heading Contact Information.
Thank you in advance for performing this task which allows all officials to adhere to the USA Hockey Safesport program and in doing so, help ensure the safety of all involved in the game, both on and off the ice.
