Spruce Kings force Game 7 with 4-1 victory.
Game Seven. Tuesday in Prince George.
That was thanks to a solid 60-minute effort in a 4-1 Prince George Spruce Kings victory over the Langley Rivermen Sunday evening at George Preston Rec Centre.
The Spruce Kings opened the scoring at 6:58 when Marcus Lougheed deflected a Tai Ushio pass past Eric Young to give Prince George an early edge.
The Rivermen would respond on the power play at 14:14 of the first as Parker Forlin’s shot beat Colin Reay on the blocker side.
The second period was all Prince George, as they scored twice while out-shooting the Rivermen 14-3 in the frame.
First, Nick Bianchi’s shot was mostly stopped by Young, but trickled through the arm and over the line to make it 2-1.
Just over two minutes later, Mathis Laplante started a chance on the forecheck, then dropped the puck to Bianchi at the point. His shot was blocked, but Cooper Faughnan found the loose puck, and found a wide open Laplante for a tap-in as he circled around the net and snuck behind the defenders.
In the final frame, River Arnason scored his second of the series after a Carter Hesselgrave tip and Mason Loewen pass of the loose puck to put in the empty net.
Colin Reay made 16 stops in the victory, pushing the series back to Kopar Memorial Arena for a 7 PM start on Tuesday.
Tickets will be available starting at 9:00 AM Monday online and at the Spruce Kings office. Tickets will be $17.00 for adults, $14.00 for seniors 55+ and $6.00 for youth aged 6-18.
