Rivermen Even Series with 5-4 win
The first round matchup between the Prince George Spruce Kings and the Langley Rivermen is now a Best-of-Three.
The Rivermen won Game 4 by a 5-4 score on Wednesday night in Langley in a back and forth affair that saw the Spruce Kings tie the game up three separate times.
The Rivermen got on the board first as Sam Giangualano put a rebound under the pad of Ryder Green as Jordan Geike and Brody Juck picked up assists.
Prince George responded just 37 seconds later when a rush with Nick Bianchi and Lucas Busch ended on the stick of Ben Vreugdenhil who was able to put it into the net past Eric Young to tie the game.
Langley would get a goal with just 11.2 seconds left in period one when Connor Jalbert slipped back to the side of the goal following a chance and redirected a puck past Green to make it 2-1.
The Spruce Kings responded at 4:47 of the second as Tai Ushio scored unassisted while playing 4 on 4. He jumped to glove a puck down and went to the backhand around Young to make it a 2-2 game.
Giangualano would restore the lead for Langley on the power play at 13:05 just 11 seconds into the man advantage.
Prince George would get a power-play goal of their own from Ushio just four minutes later, once again tying the game as the two teams headed to the third period.
In the third, Zachary Benayon got the Rivermen going just 32 seconds in beating Green off the rush.
Prince George pulled the goalie for the extra attacker with two minutes to go, but Parker Forlin found the empty net to make it 5-3 at 18:26.
Carter Hesselgrave would score on the power play at 19:39, but the Spruce Kings would ultimately fall 5-4.
