Marcus Lougheed commits to University of Guelph
The Prince George Spruce Kings would like to congratulate forward Marcus Lougheed on committing to the University of Guelph for the 2026-2027 season.
Lougheed put up 60 points in his only regular season in Prince George, scoring 20 goals and adding 40 assists. Prior to his time with the Spruce Kings, Lougheed played 240 games with his hometown Collingwood Blues of the OJHL, winning two league championships and a Centennial Cup National Championship.
Marcus Lougheed: “I am very excited to be joining the Guelph men’s hockey program. I am very excited to be in a place where I can grow my game while getting a great education. I would like to thank the Spruce Kings and Blues organizations for helping me get where I am in my career. I’m looking forward to the next chapter.”
Head Coach Brad Tesink: “Marcus joined us last summer and made an immediate impact on and off the ice for our team. He has more an earned this opportunity with the University of Guelph and will have a very successful USports career starting next year.
