Nanaimo Clippers Blueliner Landon Pappas Commits to Maryville University Division I Program
The Nanaimo Clippers are thrilled to announce that defenceman Landon Pappas has committed to Maryville University, where he will continue his academic and athletic journey at the NCAA Division I level.
Pappas has earned a reputation as a composed and intelligent presence on the Clippers’ back end. A smooth-skating blueliner with strong positional awareness, he has been relied upon to handle key defensive assignments while contributing to transition play and puck movement.
“Landon is a smart, steady defenceman who understands how to manage the game,” said Clippers Head Coach and GM Colin Birkas. “He defends hard, makes clean plays under pressure, and brings consistency every night. Maryville is getting a great player who can be trusted in big moments.”
Landon’s progression reflects the Clippers’ development model: creating an environment where players are supported, challenged, and prepared to advance to the collegiate level. Landon is the Clippers’ 5th Division 1 commitment since February.
“I’m thankful for my time with the Clippers and the people who’ve supported me every step of the way,” said Pappas. “Nanaimo has been a great place to develop, and I’m excited to take the next step at Maryville.”
The Clippers congratulate Landon on this milestone and look forward to following his continued growth at the Division I level.
