Texans OT Trent Brown agrees to one-year, $7M contract

Offensive tackle Trent Brown and the Houston Texans agreed to a one-year contract extension worth up to $7 million.

Brown's agent Drew Rosenhaus announced the news on Thursday morning. It also comes on the heels of Houston agreeing to trade starting right tackle Tytus Howard to the Cleveland Browns and Juice Scruggs to the Detroit Lions in separate deals.

Brown, who turns 33 next month, signed with the Texans as a free agent last March and -- after initially being released in August -- was added to the roster in October. He started all seven games in which he appeared last season with Houston.

A Pro Bowl selection in 2019, he has started 103 of 110 games over 11 NFL seasons with the San Francisco 49ers (2015-17), New England Patriots (2018, 2021-23), Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders (2019-20), Cincinnati Bengals (2024) and Texans.
