Nanaimo Clippers Add Smooth-Skating Defenseman Cooper Klinck for 2026-2027 Season
NANAIMO, BC — March 4, 2026 — The Nanaimo Clippers are proud to announce the commitment of defenseman Cooper Klinck for the 2026–27 season.
Klinck is a left-shot defenseman, born in 2008, from Minnetonka, Minnesota. During the 2025-2026 season Klinck captained Breck School in Minnesota, showcasing his skating and offensive abilities by scoring 31 points in 28 games.
Head Coach and GM Colin Birkas describes Cooper as “a smart, smooth-skating defenseman who defends well and moves the puck extremely well.” Birkas added, “Cooper is a proven leader as the captain at Breck and has the leadership qualities we value. He’ll fit in seamlessly with the way we want to play here in Nanaimo.”
Klinck is equally excited to join the Clippers organization, explaining that he “chose to commit to Nanaimo because it’s an amazing program and community to be a part of. I believe this program and this town will help me evolve as a player.”
Clippers fans can look forward to a poised, competitive defender who takes pride in shutting plays down and quickly turning them into scoring opportunities.
