Kings make moves on deadline day.

Tuesday marked the roster deadline day in the BCHL and the Kings made a number moves to add to the roster for the final stretch of the season.

First the Kings made a player for player trade with the Okotoks Oilers that saw the Kings acquire forward Josh Wiebe in exchange for Sam Esposito. Wiebe is a 20 year old from Calgary and is in the midst of his best BCHL season. The previous two seasons he split between the Brooks Bandits and Trail Smoke Eater and had 7 goals and 8 assists in 39 games. This season with the Oilers Wiebe has found the back of the net 12 times and picked up 13 assists in 37 contests. Meanwhile Sam Esposito was in his first year with the Kings and in 40 games he scored 5 goals to go along with 11 assists.

The second trade came with the Brooks Bandits in which the Kings acquired forward Jeremiah Mundy for future considerations. Munday is an 18 year old from Switzerland and has 10 points in 30 games for the Bandits this season. The power forward has also represented his country on numerous occasions playing in the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and 2025 World U18 Championships where he had 4 points in 5 games.

The Kings also made a splash with a pair of signings. Returning to Powell River is 18 year old defenseman Brett Woodard who played in the teams first 4 games last season. Since then the Squamish product has played with the 100 Mile House Wranglers in the KIJHL and the Campbellton Tigers in the MJAHL where he has 3 points in 31 games this season.

The team has also signed 2006 born forward Carson Lynch. From Grand Blanc Michigan, Lynch is in his first year of junior hockey and has been playing in the NAHL with the Odessa Jackalopes. In 25 games he has 3 goals and 4 assists.

All four players are expected to make their Kings debuts Saturday in Nanaimo.
