Bobcats Complete Series of Trades

0 0

The Bismarck Bobcats have completed a trade with the Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL, sending Goaltender Dane Callaway to the Black Hawks in exchange for future considerations.

Callaway, an ‘05 birth year goaltender, has been an instrumental part of the Bismarck Bobcats success since he joined the team. In 20 games, Callaway boasted a record of 13-5-2 with a 2.58 goals against average and an .898 save percentage. Callaway also notched 3 shutouts this season with the Bobcats.

Bobcats General Manager and Director of Scouting Niko Kapetanovic has no doubt that Callaway will be an NCAA Division I goaltender. “Dane inserted himself into Bismarck and quickly became a top goalie in the league. Dane is no doubt in my mind a Division I goalie and will continue to be great in his position. We will miss Dane, but wish him the best in Waterloo and are thankful for everything that Dane provided the Bobcat organization.

The Bismarck Bobcats have also completed a trade sending Forward Holden Gallagher to the Kenai River Brown Bears in exchange for future considerations.

This season, Gallagher appeared in 23 games for the Bobcats where he scored 1 goal and added on 5 assists. Last year, he played 2 games as an affiliate player for the Bobcats scoring a goal against the North Iowa Bulls. Gallagher mentioned how much he enjoyed the passion from the fans in his time here. “I’m extremely thankful for the time I had in Bismarck and having the opportunity to start my junior hockey career. The environment in Bismarck is unbelievable. From the fans, to the coaching staff, to the group of guys I was able to call my teammates and my family.”

Kapetanovic commented on how he feels Gallagher will continue to excel in Kenai. “We wish Holden nothing but the best in Kenai and we truly feel that his best hockey is yet to come. He will do well in Kenai with an expanded role. Holden is a great young man and a great player. We appreciate everything he gave to the Bobcats.”

The Bismarck Bobcats are back in action this weekend to take on the Aberdeen Wings on the road. Puck drop is set for 7:15 P.M. both Friday and Saturday Night.
