Cheaters

I don't yet need to wear prescription glasses, but for the past year or so, I've needed cheaters for reading. Cheaters is my term for non-prescription reading glasses you guy off the shelf.

The strength my my readers is +1.50, typical for a guy my age. I bought 3 pairs at Dollorama and the total cost was under six bucks. In other words, these cheaters are cheap.

Most of my reading is on the laptop, so I throw one on before logging on. What I came to learn about these dirt cheap Dollorama glasses is they're, well... cheap. They're so brittle I've broke a pair cleaning the lens. Other pairs seem to break because I looked at them funny. When you're paying under a buck and a half, this is to be expected.

This weekend, my wife picked up a couple of pairs at Costco. I think it was about $20 total, a significant upgrade from my Dollarama cheaters. You can literally feel the difference just by holding them.
