Bobcat Forward Mark Evans Commits to Robert Morris University
The Bismarck Bobcats are proud to announce that Forward Mark Evans, has committed to continue his collegiate hockey and academic career at Robert Morris University
Evans, an ‘07 forward for the Bobcats, is playing in his 1st year of junior hockey and has been a big offensive spark plug. Throughout the 31 games he’s appeared in, Evans has fired home 10 goals and added 19 assists for a total of 29 points. He mentioned his excitement to commit to a high-level Division 1 program that is also close to home.
“RMU is a great spot for me because it is the same rink where I began my hockey career at four years old. I am beyond grateful to be playing in my hometown city, and thankful for the opportunity to continue to develop as a person and a player” Evans said.
Coach Garrett Roth praised Evans for his work ethic and dedication throughout the season, along with his excitement for him to get an opportunity to play at the next level. “I couldn’t be more excited for Mark and his family for this well deserved opportunity to get an education and play Division I hockey back in his hometown. He has brought a passion and work ethic to the rink every day that has allowed him to continue his development over the course of the season. Mark has been an impact player for us and is one of the best first year junior players in our league. His focus and dedication to put the work in will play a major role in him being a great fit for Coach Schooley and the Robert Morris Program. This commitment has been a lifelong goal and something Mark has strived for throughout his playing days and I couldn’t be happier to see it pay off for such a great young man,” Roth said.
The Bobcats have had a recent history of committing players to Robert Morris as former Bobcats Patrick Johnson and Julian Beaumont currently play at RMU. Former Bobcat Tristen Trevino is also committed to Robert Morris and will be heading there after his junior eligibility ends. Robert Morris University is an NCAA Division I program that plays collegiate hockey in the AHA conference (Atlantic Hockey America).
