VA Hero Of The Week: Zdeno Chara Inducted Into Hockey Hall Of Fame
A Hockey Hall of Famer, a marathoner, and a Stanley Cup champion all walk into a locker room. What do they have in common? They’re all our VA Hero Of The Week, Zdeno Chara!
Chara was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto on Monday for his 24-season career in the NHL, 14 of which he spent with the Boston Bruins.
The tallest to ever hoist the Stanley Cup, “Big Z” was honored with the James Norris Memorial Trophy in 2009 and has won the NHL’s hardest shot competition five times.
He will receive yet another honor on January 15th, when his number will be retired and raised into the rafters of TD Garden.
