HELP LOCAL VETERANS THIS SATURDAY
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are calling on their fans to help out our military veterans in need this Saturday night prior to their Veterans Day Game, presented by Workers for Warriors.
The Penguins face off with the Utica Comets at 6:05pm on Saturday, and fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the East Gate, where they will be collected prior to puck drop. These donations will be used to support the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center food pantry.
Additionally, the team will also be collecting items for the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center in Scranton, including activity books (crossword puzzles, sudoku, etc.), anti-slip gripper socks, winter hats, gloves and other comfort items.
SALUTE YOUR VETERAN
The Penguins are also looking for submissions to ‘Salute your Veteran’ at the game on Saturday.
Fans can log on to https://www.wbspenguins.com/veterans-day-submission/ where they can provide information on family members or friends who have served our country, and can upload a photo of a veteran that will be displayed on the videoboard during the contest.
