Jack Roslovic passed the puck out of the corner of the New York zone to Walman at the high slot. Walman fed Nurse in the right circle, and Nurse scored with a one-timer.

Edmonton was on its first power play when Adam Henrique took a shot that was saved by Shesterkin, but the rebound came back to Henrique. His follow up went off the skate of Savoie and into the net for a 2-1 lead at 8:48 of the second.

Savoie was the ninth overall pick by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2022 draft before he was traded to Edmonton in July 2024 for Ryan McLeod and Tyler Tullio.

Nurse scored 1:36 later to make it 3-1.

Nurse brought the puck across the New York blue line with speed, passed off the Isaac Howard on his left, and he passed the puck back to Nurse to the left of the net.

Nurse took the sharp angle shot, and the puck crossed the goal line when it got caught in Shesterkin's pad.
