0 3

The Nanaimo Clippers are pleased to announce the signing of forward Jesse Venturo from Kleinburg, Ontario, Canada, for the remainder of the BCHL season.

Venturo joins the Clippers following a stint with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and two seasons with St.Michael’s Buzzers of the OJHL. Jesse adds to the growing number of Clippers committed to NCAA Division I programs, as he is set to attend Lake Superior State University (LSSU).

Head Coach Colin Birkas spoke highly of the newest addition to the Clippers lineup. “Jesse is a skilled player who plays with an edge,” said Birkas. “He’s a mature, responsible forward who competes hard in all three zones and fits the mold of the player we want in Nanaimo. Coming from the OHL and committed to LSSU, he brings experience, pace, and a strong compete level that will elevate our group.”

When asked what he will bring to the team Venturo said “I’m a strong two-way player who takes pride in contributing in all areas of the game. I use my speed and skill to create opportunities while playing smart in the defensive zone. I’ll bring a strong work ethic, compete hard every game, and do whatever I can to support my teammates and help the team succeed.”

Welcome Aboard, Jesse
