Habs Reveal 2025 Rookie Camp Roster
In advance of their upcoming rookie tournament this weekend, the Habs announced on Monday the 26 players that will take part in that event along with rookie camp this week.
In some years, there are plenty of invites without ties to the organization. This isn’t one of those as only three of the players aren’t Montreal prospects or already signed by Laval. The invites are as follows:

Among the tryouts, Lavigne has spent the last three years at Concordia. The 24-year-old previously played for Blainville-Boisbriand of the QMJHL and is someone who is likely hoping to catch on with Laval. McGowan is set to enter his final junior season with OHL Kingston and is coming off a solid showing of 30 points in 56 games with the Frontenacs last year. At 20, he’s eligible to play in the minors if he does well to earn a look with the Rocket.
As for Wang, he’s in the final year of his junior career as well with OHL Flint. He only has two years at that level under his belt and his 15 goals and 13 assists last season don’t jump off the page either. But he did well at development camp in July to earn a second look here. With his limited junior experience, it’d be a surprise to see Laval sign him so the goal here might be to impress in the hopes of landing a deal for next season.
Montreal will play Winnipeg on Saturday night and Toronto on Sunday afternoon for their rookie games. Most players from this camp will likely move onto main camp which will start next week.
