Isaac Holt named 24th Spruce Kings Captain
The Prince George Spruce Kings are proud to announce that defenseman Isaac Holt has been named the 24th captain since joining the BCHL in 1996.
Holt is from Pembroke, Ontario and is entering his second season as a Spruce King. The 6’5”, 233 pound defenseman put up a goal and three assists last season while picking up 66 penalty minutes. He was acquired in a trade with the Vernon Vipers early last season.
Isaac Holt: “I’m super honoured to be named captain. There’s a lot of great players that have worn this jersey and worn the ‘C’ in this organization, and I hope that I can continue to hold the standard that they have already set. I’m just looking to bring out the best of our team and hoping they can do the same for me.”
Head Coach Brad Tesink: “Isaac embodies what the Spruce Kings stand for. He is a great example of work ethic and dedication on ice and being an even better human off the ice and in the community. We as a staff believe that he, along with the rest of our leadership group will set the foundation for a successful BCHL season.”
General Manager Mike Hawes: “First and foremost Isaac is a tremendous young man. He gives respect but also demands it. His work ethic on and off the ice is unparalleled. I cannot think of a better young man to lead our group this season.”
