What An Absolute Pleasure It Is To Meet You Samoa Joe
I've told this story a few times on Toronto Mike'd, but thought I'd document it here for posterity. Last summer, I attended Beerfest to see Cypress Hill. I was joined by my wife and daughter.
At some point after Souls of Mischief performed, FOTM Ryan Wolstat who covers the Raptors for the Toronto Sun spotted me in the crowd and came over to say hi. Ryan let me know that Somoa Joe was in attendance. He said it in a manner that let me know this was a big deal, but I was unfamiliar with the name Samoa Joe.
We literally Googled the name Samoa Joe and learned about his fame in the WWE world. That's right, Samoa Joe is a professional wrestler, currently in the AEW. "Neat", I thought to myself.
Moments later, I spot FOTM Hall of Famer Stu Stone in the crowd. I went up to Stu to give him a big hug. Stu says "Toronto Mike, I'd like to introduce you to Samoa Joe."
I found myself staring into the eyes of this mountian of a man, a man I only learned existed minutes earlier. For some reason, I found myself doing something and saying something I had never done before. I gave him a two handed shake and said "Samoa Joe, what an absolute pleasure it is to meet you".
I've never said those words before, and I may never say those words again, but this happened last summer.
