Heritage Hill Farms
A listener of Toronto Mike'd named Graham Johnston heard I was heading to The Pinery and offered to give us a tour of his family's dairy farm. New Dundee was an ideal spot for a stop and I happily accepted his generous offer.
Heritage Hill Farms is a family-owned dairy farm producing high quality milk for Ontario families through sustainable practices. I saw this in action. It was very impressive.
We met the cows, including a day-old calf, watched the robot milk one, saw the feeding process and got a sense of how modern tech can make everything more efficient in a humane and thoughtful manner.
Graham and his dad James were great, as was Rosie, the dog my youngest son instantly fell in love with.
There was even a museum full of old tractors, radios, telephones, and farm equipment. That was very cool.
