Brad Barker Leaves JAZZ.FM91, Jeff Chalmers Replaces Him

Brad Barker has been at JAZZ.FM91 since 2001 when he joined the station as a weekend host.

As the station evolved, so did his impact. From his roles as Operations Manager and Music Director to his beloved presence on programs like Jazzology, Dinner Jazz, and of course, Afternoon Drive, Brad has been instrumental in crafting the unique voice of JAZZ.FM91. For over twenty years, Brad has shared his profound musical knowledge, his warm and generous spirit, and his unwavering passion for jazz with all of us – staff, volunteers, donors, partners, and listeners alike. His distinctive voice and deep impact are truly woven into the DNA of JAZZ.FM91, and his legacy will resonate through the station for many years to come.

Jeff Chalmers, who has been heard on CFTR, Q107, CBC, The Hog, and Boom 97.3, has joined JAZZ.FM91 as the new host of Afternoon Drive.

It’s a true honour to step into a role previously held by the incomparable Brad Barker. Brad’s passion, generosity, and deep dedication to jazz helped shape JAZZ.FM91 into what it is today. His voice, his presence, and his advocacy for the music and community have left an indelible mark—not just on this station, but on jazz lovers across Toronto and beyond.
