Final name choices identified for new professional Topeka hockey team
TOPEKA (KSNT) - Local fans are helping narrow down the name choices for a new Topeka hockey team.
Topeka Professional Hockey, part of the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL), announced in a press release on Sunday, April 13 that local fans have selected five possible names for the city's new pro hockey team, some of which may be recognized by older fans. These finalists include the following:
- The Topeka Scarecrows.
- The Topeka Tornados.
- The Topeka Wizards.
- The Topeka Roadrunners.
- The Topeka Capitals.
Hockey fans can cast votes starting on Monday, April 14 until Sunday, April 27 to help decide the winning name for the team. The final selection will be announced at 1 p.m. on May 5 along with the reveal of the logo, jersey design and other important information.
