Six Hockey East Teams Will Play In 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Tournament
The Hockey East Association will be well represented in the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Tournament.
A record-tying six teams from Hockey East earned bids into the tournament Sunday: Boston College, Boston University, UConn, Maine, UMass and Providence.
BC and Maine secured No. 1 seeds, joined by Michigan State and Western Michigan. The Eagles hold the top overall seed in the tourney.
The six selections match Hockey East’s 2016 field and increase the conference’s record of 133 NCAA Tournament field selections. At least one Hockey East team has appeared in the National Championship Game in 21 of the last 32 years.
The 16-team bracket follows a single-elimination format. Regional matchups are scheduled to take place in Manchester, N.H., Allentown, Pa., Toledo, Ohio, and Fargo, N.D., with the winners of each region advancing to the Frozen Four at Enterprise Center in St. Louis.
The tournament begins Thursday. A national champion will be crowned April 12.
