UT men's club hockey team heading to nationals
AUSTIN (KXAN) —The University of Texas Men's Club Hockey Team is heading to Nationals after winning their region.
The team won 10 of their last 11 games heading into Regionals and then continued winning in the regional tournament in Denver, Colorado.
UT played Cal Berkley and won the first game 5-4 in overtime, then they took on Providence Montana and beat them 4-3, and on Saturday they played Colorado Boulder and won 3-2 in overtime.
"We have a lot of heart on our team and we keep making these comeback wins," said Brayden Stevenson.
The national tournament will be a 16 team round robin.
"This is the first time ever being able to attend the national tournament and represent our school on the national level," said Senior Barrett Ott.
Nationals will be held in St. Louis on March 14th.
