0 9

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers return home to Kal Tire Place tonight to kick off a crucial weekend, hosting the Blackfalds Bulldogs. Both teams are looking to bounce back after recent losses, with Vernon sitting at 12-21-6 and Blackfalds at 6-31-2.

The Vipers have gone 3-6-1 in their last 10 outings, most recently suffering a 7-3 loss to West Kelowna last Saturday. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs have dropped two straight, including a 3-1 defeat in Brooks, but have posted a 4-6 record over their last 10.

Following the trade deadline, Erik Pastro now leads the Vipers in scoring with 6 goals and 19 assists. On the other side, Joey Melo is the Bulldogs’ top offensive weapon with 10 goals and 9 assists.

Vernon has been competitive at home this season with a 6-8-5 record, while Blackfalds has struggled on the road, winning just 3 of 20 games away from home. This marks the third meeting between these teams, with the Vipers securing victories in the first two matchups by scores of 7-4 and 6-4.

Puck drop is set for 7pm tonight as the Vipers look to take advantage of home ice and get back in the win column.
