Sid Seixeiro and Meredith Shaw Out at Breakfast Television

Way back in November 2021, Rogers announced that Pooja Handa and Gurdeep Ahluwalia were the new morning show on CHFI 98.1. It was a poorly kept secret as Pooja Handa left her role on Bell Mediea-owned CP24's Breakfast on August 12, 2021, and was soon followed out the door by her co-host Gurdeep Ahluwalia. Speculation here, early and often, was that TV stars Pooja and Gurdeep were destined to host Breakfast Television.

Earlier that year, Sid Siexeiro left his role on Sportsnet alongside Tim Micallef to co-host Breakfast Television. Fast forward to 2023 when Dina Pugliese announced she was leaving BT, and FOTM Meredith Shaw announced she was leaving her gig at Bell Media-owned CHUM to take Dina's spot beside Sid. The Sid and Meredith version of Breakfast Television lasted about 16 months. Today it was announced they're no longer on Breakfast Television.

Cohosting @breakfasttelevision with @sid_seixeiro has been such an honour and I’m so proud of the television we have made. Thank you Sid, for being a tremendous teammate and friend. You’re the best of the best and I love you. Tammie, Devo, Frank, Caryn, Steph, Rick, Mike, Tracy, Cheryl and the entire BT team, thank you for your guidance, support and friendship throughout every change that’s been thrown our way. Mad love forever & always. To all of the wonderfully talented BT experts and guests I have such respect and admiration for the work, time & talent it takes to do what you do. Keep shining! To the love of my life @rodneybowers thank you for walking every step of this wild ride with me and for putting up with my 3:45am alarms like a champ. Hey guys. Confirming my last day at @breakfasttv was this past Friday. Thanks for letting me into your homes and for being so kind. Also, thank you to @Rogers for over 13 years of support. They allowed me incredible freedom on-air and I’m grateful. God bless. We’ll talk soon.

Based on Meredith and Sid's social media posts, it does not sound like they'll have other jobs with Rogers. Also, when you move to another job with the same company, they let you say goodbye. Meredith and Sid did not get to say goodbye on Breakfast Television as the statement was read by Devo Brown.

Rogers has yet to make an official statement about this "new chapter", but my money is on Pooja and Gurdeep returning to television as hosts of BT.
