0 4

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will be hosting Crosscheck Cancer night, presented by Geisinger, this Saturday night when they take on the Cleveland Monsters at 6:05pm.

Fans will be able to participate in a number of fundraisers and events highlighting the fight against the disease throughout the night.  And supporters who can’t make it to the game will be able to participate through online auctions to help raise money for a special cause.

CROSSCHECK CANCER AT THE ARENA

  1. All fans are encouraged to wear lavender or pink to the game to show their support for the fight against cancer.
  2. Penguins players’ wives, girlfriends and partners will be collecting items for Chemo Comfort Bags, which will be given to patients battling cancer at local hospitals.  Fans are encouraged to bring blankets, art supplies, activity books, sleep masks and socks to the game and drop them off at the table inside section 119.
  3. Fans will be able to fill out signs of support for friends/family members who have fought cancer.  They will be asked to display the cards during a stop in action during the game.  Cards will be available at a table near section 106 on the concourse,
  4. A special hair coloring station will be set up by section 119 where fans can receive temporary streaks for a monetary donation.  All money collected at the station will be donated to the Cancer Wellness Center of NEPA.
  5. Luminaries, featuring battery operated candles, will be available for purchase at the table behind section 106 on the concourse.  Luminaries will be displayed outside of the East Gate following the game.
  6. Fans can take part in a postgame painting session on the arena ice, where they will be able to paint messages of support on the playing surface, for a donation.  Money raised will benefit the Geisinger Pediatrics.
