Vees annual Pink the Rink night Friday
Penticton, BC – The Penticton Vees 10th annual Pink the Rink night is Friday, February 7th, against the Vernon Vipers at the South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC).
The game is highlighted by the Vees wearing special pink jerseys in support of anti-bullying awareness. This year’s jerseys are celebrating the decade-long history of the
event but incorporating the names of local schools into the design. The jerseys will be auctioned off online following the game on Friday. Fans are encouraged to wear pink as well.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate the 10th Annual Pink the Rink Night with the support of our local schools for this important anti-bullying initiative. This year is extra special as we proudly showcase the elementary schools on our pink jerseys, marking the final year for Parkway, Carmi, and Giant’s Head schools. We believe this is a great way to unite the community of all ages, raise awareness, and honour the legacy of these schools and the impact they had on so many,” said Vees Director of Ticketing, Amanda Lysohirka.
Last season, the Vees beat the Vernon Vipers 4-2 in front of 4,308 fans at the SOEC in their annual Pink the Rink game.
Schools across from School District 67 will be in attendance, and the Vees are giving away a $500 prize in a school spirit competition during the first intermission.
Special group pricing is available for elementary school students and their families as part of a ticket fundraising initiative. Tickets for Pink the Rink can be purchases at the Valley First box office at the SOEC, as well as online at www.valleyfirsttix.com
