Hense Signed for 2025

Trail, British Columbia (January 8, 2025) – The Trail Smoke Eaters have signed Max Hense and he is expected to join the team this week.

Max is a 2006-born 6’2″ defenceman from Dusseldorf, Germany. Most recently, Max played in the World Junior Hockey Championship in Ottawa for Team Germany. Prior to the World Juniors, Max played with Kolner Junghaie in the DNL U20. In 26 games, Hense scored 6 goals and added 19 assists for 25 points.

“Max is a big, strong defender that has huge upside to his game. He has junior experience at the highest levels on the international stage with Team Germany at the World Junior Championships and the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. He will definitely add to our defence group for the second half of the season.” ~Tim Fragle, Smoke Eaters GM/Head Coach

The Smoke Eaters organization would like to welcome Max and the Hense family to the city of Trail.
