GAME NIGHT PREVIEW: Vipers vs. West Kelowna Warriors
Kal Tire Place | January 3, 2025 | 7:00 PM
The Vernon Vipers are set to kick off 2025 with a crucial matchup against the West Kelowna Warriors at Kal Tire Place. After a two-game winless streak, the Vipers will look to get back in the win column against a familiar foe.
Season Snapshot
- Vipers Record: 9-15-5
- Warriors Record: 10-14-5-2
Both teams are looking to reverse recent struggles. Vernon is 3-6-1 in their last 10 games, while West Kelowna has posted a 2-5-2-1 record over the same span.
Last Time Out
The Vipers are coming off a hard-fought 5-3 loss to Salmon Arm on Sunday. Despite the setback, there were standout performances from Simon Binkley and Daniil Dolzhenko, who each scored, and Jari Kykkanen, who made an incredible 40 saves on 44 shots.
Meanwhile, West Kelowna is riding the high of their most significant win of the season, a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Brooks Bandits last Saturday. Goals from Sam LeDrew, Elias Callgren, Dylan Krayer, and Luciano Bruno, along with Bor Glavic’s 29-save effort for his first BCHL win, sealed the upset.
Head-to-Head
This is the fifth of six meetings between these teams this season and their first since November 6. The Vipers have outscored the Warriors 16-10 across the series and hold a 2-1-1 record. The final showdown will take place on February 8 at Royal LePage Place.
