Roster Update

Trail, British Columbia (December 31, 2024) – The Trail Smoke Eaters would like to announce the following roster updates.

The Smoke Eaters have added Zach Coutu to the active roster and he will wear #17. Zach is a 2005-born forward from

Edmonton, Alberta. Coutu is a 6’2″ left shot forward that comes to Trail from Canmore of the AJHL where he posted 29 points in 28 games this season. Zach also played for Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge (WJAC) the past December.

Defenceman Noah Ziskie (’05) has left the team to explore an opportunity with the Tri-City Storm in the United States Hockey League (USHL).

Forward Aidan Castle (’04) has left the team to return closer to home and play in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL).

The Smoke Eaters would like welcome Zach and the Coutu family to Trail and would like to wish Noah and Aidan all the best in their next hockey opportunity.

The Trail Smoke Eaters next home game is Friday, January 3rd against the visiting Spruce Grove Saints with a 7:00pm puck drop at Cominco Arena. Good seats are still available at Tickets.TrailSmokeEaters.com or in the Smokies Store.
