Transactions: Lycksell to Flyers, Primeau Recalled from Reading
Lycksell Coming Off Hat Trick Friday

Allentown, PA – The Philadelphia Flyers have recalled forward Olle Lycksell from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Additionally, the Phantoms have recalled center Mason Primeau from the Reading Royals of the ECHL.
Lycksell, 25, is coming off his second career hat trick on Friday night in Lehigh Valley’s 7-2 rout of the Toronto Marlies. In the previous game on Wednesday, Lycksell scored his third overtime goal of the season to down the Providence Bruins and equal a 21-year-old franchise record for most overtime goals in a season.
Lycksell had just taken the team lead in scoring with nine goals and 15 assists for 24 points which also orates tied for 14th in the AHL. His 103 shots on goal is most in the AHL and is 10 more than the next closest player, Dryden Hunt of Calgary who has 93 shots.
The Osksarshamn, Sweden product recorded 19-20-39 in just 38 games with the Phantoms last year and also scored 1-4-5 with Philadelphia in 18 games. This is his first recall of the season.
A Round 6 selection of the Flyers in 2017, Lycksell recorded his 100th career point with the Phantoms on December 4, 2024 vs. Rockford becoming the 10th player in Lehigh Valley history to reach the milestone. In three seasons with the Phantoms he has scored 42-66-108 in 116 career games while also playing in 26 NHL games with the Flyers scoring 1-5-6.
Primeau, 23, is a 6’6″ center with a lefty shot from Toronto, ON. He has played in seven games with the Reading Royals scoring three goals with one assist and has yet to play in a regular season game with the Phantoms. He spent most of the past three seasons with the Henderson (NV) Silver Knights of the AHL.
Last year with Henderson, Primeau scored two goals with four assists for six points in 44 games. He has played in 133 career AHL games with Henderson scoring 10-18-28. Primeau has also appeared in 25 ECHL games with Fort Wayne, Savannah and Reading scoring 8-8-16.
Mason Primeau is the son of former NHL veteran Wayne Primeau who played 774 career NHL games with Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, San Jose, Boston, Calgary, and Toronto and is the nephew of former Flyers’ captain Keith Primeau who played six seasons for Philadelphia from 1999-2006.
The Phantoms play their final game before the holiday break tonight at 6:05 p.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
