Landon Marleau signs with Kings
The Powell River Kings are thrilled to announce the signing of 2006 born forward Landon Marleau!
“Landon is a young and exciting prospect” says Head Coach and G.M. Stephan Seeger Jr. “Upon reviewing video it was extremely clear that Landon thinks the game and pays close attention to detail. His size, good habits, and willingness to make quick plays are a package that we believe will lead to a quick and easy transition into the BCHL.”
Landon is the son of San Jose Sharks legend Patrick Marleau who played 23 seasons in the NHL and holds the record for the most games played in NHL history with 1,779, and is a two time Olympic Gold Medalist.
“I’m impressed with his desire and maturity as a young man and player.” adds Seeger Jr. “I anticipate him contributing positively to our lineup immediately. And yes, he will be wearing number 12.”
This season the 18 year old from Los Gatos California has only played in 4 games, all in the North American Hockey League. Last year he played on the Southern Alberta Hockey Academy U18 prep team where he had 7 goals and 6 assists in 21 games.
Landon will join the Kings on their Lower Mainland trip this weekend and is expected to play.
