Vipers Sign Experienced 2005-Born Defenseman Sam Ward

0 1

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce the signing of 2005-born defenseman Sam Ward.  With over 100 games of junior experience, Ward joins the team as a valuable addition to the Vipers’ defensive lineup.

“After losing two veteran defensemen, we needed a strong replacement, and we are very fortunate to bring in Sam,” said Vipers Head Coach Lukas Lomicky. “He has the experience we need and will provide a solid 200-foot presence on the back end to support us in all situations.”

The Kamloops native previously played in the BCHL with Merritt in 2021-22, followed by stints with Swift Current and, most recently, Wenatchee. Standing at 5’9″ and weighing 174 pounds, Ward is a left-shot defenseman known for his versatility and reliability on the ice.

“I’m excited to come to Vernon and play for the Vipers,” said Ward. “I’ve heard nothing but great things about the city and the organization, and I can’t wait to get going.”

Please join us in welcoming Sam Ward and his family to the Vernon Vipers organization.
