Game Preview: Vipers Seek Win in Home Matchup Against Penticton Vees

0 8

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers return to Kal Tire Place this Saturday night, still searching for their first win of the season as they host the high-flying Penticton Vees. The Vipers come in with an 0-4-1-0 record after a tough 4-0 road loss to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

Despite the slow start, Lucas Brennan and Will Schumacher have been bright spots for the Vipers, leading the team in points. Meanwhile, goaltender Marko Bilic was solid in his second start, stopping 28 of 32 shots in Salmon Arm. Vernon’s penalty kill has also been a strong point, successfully killing off all seven penalties across their last three games.

The Penticton Vees, on the other hand, ride into Vernon with a 5-1 record, fresh off a 5-1 victory over the Okotoks Oilers. Max Heise led the way with two goals, while Simon Meier chipped in three assists. Anselmo Rego has been the Vees’ top offensive threat so far this season with 7 points (2 goals, 5 assists). Goalie Will Ingemann was solid in net with 21 saves on 22 shots.

This will be the first of six head-to-head matchups between these two teams this season.

Make sure to get your tickets at tickets.vernonvipers.com or at the box office! Puck drop is set for 6 PM at Kal Tire Place.
