Bismarck Bobcats Add Four Interns to the Front Office Staff

0 15

The Bismarck Bobcats are expanding their front office while helping current college students and recent graduates gain valuable experience.

The plan is to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Bobcats and provide you a better way to stay up to date with the current team and keep tabs on the Bobcats who have moved on to college and the pros.

Kellyn Brown

Kellyn Brown comes to the Bobcats from Salem, Oregon.  She is a student at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi majoring in Sports Management.  She will be helping Director of Operations Brad Feldman with the day-to-day operations of the organization and game day preparation.

Brown has experience as an Athletic Director Intern with the Boys & Girls Ranch of the Coastal Bend in Corpus Christi, TX.  Here she organized and managed events, games, practices, and tournaments.  She maintained everything from team rosters, schedules, budgets and other information related to athletic programs.

Brown’s plan after her time with the Bobcats is to go to graduate school.  While in Bismarck, she is experiencing billet life and staying with Paul and Kelly Stoehr.

Content Writers

The Bismarck Bobcats are very excited to announce a new internship program for the 2024-25 Season.  We have heard the fans say they want more access to the players and have a chance to catch up with those players who have moved on to higher levels.

We are proud to announce the hiring of three content writers for the season.  They are Brian Gornick, Annika Kandadai, and Kieran Lang.  They will be working remotely while finishing school or getting started in their career looking for more experience.

Brian Gornick graduated from University of Michigan Dearborn in April of this year with a double major in Journalism & Media Productions and History.  He also earned a minor in Communications and Political Science.    Gornick is enrolled in the Master of Arts-Communications program with a concentration in Public Relations and Organizational Communications at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

While doing his undergrad program he worked for the Michigan Journal.   After the COVID-19 pandemic, Gornick was the only news writer on staff at the time.  Within two years, Gornick and the Journal grew to a team of six sports writers and three news writers.  Gornick published more than 50 articles in two years and served as the Sports Editor for the Michigan Journal.

Annika Kandadai is a student (year) at the University of Texas, Austin majoring in Sports Management and Advertising.  She spent last year at the University of Wisconsin, Madison studying the same subjest.

Kandadai worked withing the University of Wisconsin athletic department.  She was a sports writer and Podcast Host for the Daily Cardinal, the biggest paper on campus.  The articles included player spotlights, game previews and recaps, and more.  She co-hosted a weekly podcast with two others that would recap Wisconsin Badger sporting events from the previous week and preview upcoming events.

Kandadai also worked as a Video Production Assistant for the UW Athletics and the Big Ten Network.  Her duties included developing and managing graphics for the streaming content, created content and operated the video boards, managed cameras, served as an audio technician, and assisted in production of all sporting events.  She also got the opportunity to be a student commentator for Big 10+ and covered different sports.

Kandadai’s career goals are to work in sports markets and possibly attend law school to work as a sports agent.

Kieran Lang is a recent graduate of Western Carolina University.  He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Sports Management with a minor in coaching.

Lang currently works as the Marketing and Communications Assistant for the University of Minnesota Crookston.  His duties include creating content for various sports teams covering games and other team developments.  He also works with the athletic department to develop marketing strategies to increase student-fan engagement.

While in college, Lang held multiple positions that makes him a great candidate for this position.  Lang was a video assistant/video apprentice for the Western Carolina Football team.  He assisted with day-to-day operations.  He integrated daily practice film into a software program for player development and professional recruitment.

Lang’s passion for sports started at an early age.  His first love has always been hockey.  He has spent 17 years in hockey in one way or another.

The Bismarck Bobcats are excited to welcome all of our interns for the 2024-25 season.
