Hockey Operations Staff 2024-2025

The Prince George Spruce Kings are thrilled to announce their Hockey Operations staff for the 2024/2025 season.
General Manager/ Governor Mike Hawes starts his 20th season with the Spruce Kings and 13th season as GM.
Assistant General Manager Craig Carter enters his 6th season with the Spruce Kings.
“Craig is wealth of knowledge, is very well connected in the hockey world and has been a huge benefit for us during the identification and recruiting of players.”
Head Coach Alex Evin begins his 8th season as a Spruce King and 6th season as head coach.
“Alex has been with us for a lengthy period. He knows the organizational expectation and does a tremendous job of executing our vision. He was a part of our Championship team in 2019 and I look forward to continuing to work with him to get us back to that level.”
Associate coach Brad Tesink begins his third season with the Spruce Kings.
“Brad has been a great addition to our staff over the past couple of seasons. He’s very knowledgeable and excels in the delivery of our hockey structure. He’s also excellent at building and maintaining rapport with our athletes.”
Skills and Development Coach Brandon Manning returns for his second season.
“Any time you can have a coach with high level experience it will benefit our athletes. Brandon is a proud Spruce Kings alumni and thrilled to be on board to help our athletes be the best version of themselves.”
Goaltending Coach Kris Joyce enters his 1st season with the Spruce Kings.
“We’re excited to add Kris Joyce to our coaching staff. Kris has extensive knowledge and experience in developing goaltenders and will be a huge asset to our goaltenders and our group as a whole.”
Athletic Therapist Michael Miller enters his 1st season with the Spruce Kings.
“Michael joins us from Ontario and is excited to work with our athletes. His sports background and athletic therapy knowledge will be a huge benefit to our players health and well being ensuring that they can perform at their best.
Equipment Managers Jim Harder and Howie Bell are back for another season.
“Our team does not operate without the hard work done by Jim and Howie. They take pride in what they do and it shows everyday. The management, coaches and players appreciate their dedication.”
Strength and Conditioning Coach Chase Astorino (Astorino Athletics) joins the Spruce Kings.
“Chase’s knowledge and attention to detail with regards to our athletes strength and conditioning will be exciting to see. We’re thrilled to partner with Chase and Astorino Athletics as our new strength and conditioning providers.”
Dr. Kolin Kriitmaa returns as our Certified Mental Performance Consultant.
“Kolin provides support and mental execution tools for our athletes that are extraordinary. He’s been with us for a lengthy period and has always done excellent work with our athletes to put them in their best mental state and able to perform at a high level.”
