MJHL standout Elliot Perreault signs in Nanaimo

Nanaimo, BC (July 16, 2024) — The Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL have signed 2006-born forward Elliot Perreault (Winnipeg, MB) ahead of the 2024-25 season, the team announced today.

Perreault, 18, is coming off his second standout season with the Winnipeg Freeze of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL), where he served as team captain as just a 17-year old, and led the team in scoring with 46 points (20 goals, 26 assists) in 56 games.

It was the highest point total for any 2006-born player in the league, and the 24th-highest total in the league overall.

“Elliot is a high character and talented player that we’re excited to welcome to Nanaimo this fall,” said Clippers general manager and head coach Colin Birkas. “He has shown great potential as a young player with two outstanding years of junior competition under his belt, and we’re looking forward to helping develop his abilities as he transitions to the BCHL.”

A graduate of RINK Hockey Academy in Winnipeg, Perreault debuted as a 16-year old in the MJHL the year prior, where he was the Freeze’s third-highest scoring player with 31 points (14 goals, 17 assists) in 56 games.
