Wildcats edge Titan in battle of Maritime Division rivals

The Moncton Wildcats held on to 2nd place in the Maritime Division with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan before 3800 fans at the Avenir Centre. Defenseman & First Star Hugo Marcil raced down the left wing and beat Titan goaltender Josh Fleming with the game-winning goal at 8:50 of the second period. The third period was scoreless. Other Wildcats goals went to Étienne Morin, his 11th, and Thomas Auger, his 6th of the season. Auger and Charles Beaudoin were back in the lineup after missing a few games with injuries. Cats goaltender Jacob Steinman earned 2nd Star honors with another strong performance, making 27 saves. Moncton's season record improves to 13-11-0-2. This will be Moncton's first visit to Cape Breton this season. NOTE: Wildcats forward Miles Müller and Jonas Taibel will leave the team Monday to attend the Swiss National Junior team selection camp in Truro, Nova Scotia.
