Spruce Kings Grab 4 Out Of 6 Points, Defeat Smoke Eaters 2-1

TRAIL BC – Goals from Austin Fraser, and Luc Laylin, backed by 21 saves from Aaron Trotter gave the Spruce Kings their sixth win since the Christmas break and 19^th victory on the season, defeating the Trail Smoke Eaters by a 2-1 score.

1^st PERIOD:

 PG: In the final minutes of the opening stanza on a Spruce Kings power-play, Colton Cameron got a feed from Ty Gagno at the mid-point, and Cameron spotted Austin Fraser at the left circle who wired a one timer off a body and in to give the Spruce Kings a 1-0 lead. Fraser’s 10^th of the year on the power-play was assisted by both Cameron and Gagno at 16:16.

2^nd PERIOD:

 PG: A 2 on 1 was created by Luc Laylin, as he wheeled up the right wing from a Colton Cameron pass, and Laylin and Nick Rhéaume went tic-tac-toe and as Laylin got taken down, he somehow found a way to shovel the puck by the goal line to give the Spruce Kings a 2-0 lead. Laylin’s sixth of the year was assisted by Rhéaume and Cameron at 10:35.

3^rd PERIOD:

 TRA: Jordan Hendry was able to get the puck from Connor Michaud at the right circle, and Hendry wristed it through traffic and top corner on Aaron Trotter to get Trail on the board. Hendry’s second of the season was assisted by Michaud at 13:21.
