Vipers Game Day! – Vipers Welcome Smokies For Second Game of Home Stand

0 6

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers look to build off a solid effort last Friday as they play host to the Trail Smoke Eaters at Kal Tire Place.

The Vipers (8-14-3-3) come in following a dominating 9-1 win over the Merritt Centennials on Friday night.  Reagan Milburn and JoJo Tanaka-Campbell had 3 points in the effort, while Max Borovinskiy chipped in with a pair of goals.  Roan Clarke was strong in goal with 24 saves on 25 shots.  The new acquisitions who made their Viper debuts each found the score sheet as Anthony Cliche scored his first BCHL goal, while Copeland Fricker chipped in with an assist.
The Smoke Eaters (13-13-1-0) come in after a weekend split with Cranbrook and West Kelowna.  On Friday, the Smokies arguably played their most consistent game of the season, shutting out the Warriors 4-0.  The next night in Cranbrook they would be downed by the Bucks who got out to an early lead.  The Smokies were busy at the deadline, acquiring a familiar face, Nick Remissong who was acquired from Merritt for Jackson Krill.  The Smokies have struggled a bit of late going 3-7 in their last 10.  Their play away from Cominco Arena has been hit and miss with a record of 4-7-1 away from the home barn.

This is the third meeting of the season with the Vipers holding a 1-0-1 record and taking 3 of a possible 4 points.
