Wildcats double the Remparts!

Samuel Desgroseilliers scored the eventual game-winner with more than eight minutes left in the third period as the Wildcats defeated the Quebec Remparts, 4-2, Thursday at Avenir Centre.

Desroseilliers and Brooklyn Kalmikov finished the night with a goal and an assist each. Vincent Labelle and Maxim Barbashev also scored.

Goalie Thomas Couture earned the win with 40 saves.

Labelle opened the scoring with a power play goal with five-and-a-half minuntes left in the first period, deflecting a Kalmikov wrist shot past Quebec goalie William Rousseau.

The Remparts countered three minutes later with a power play goal of their own to tie the game at 1-1.

Barbashev, who returned to the lineup after missing five games with an injury, restored Moncton's lead with more than five minutes left in the second period.

Quebec responded a short time later to create a 2-2 game after forty minutes.

Desgroseilliers' winner came nearly twelve minutes into the third.

Miles Muller rushed the puck into the slot, lost control and chased it into the right corner. Then, he fed a pass into the right circle for Desgrosseilliers, who whistled a wrist shot past Rousseau to give the Wildcats a 3-2 lead.

Kalmikov sealed the victory by scoring an empty-net goal with 26.4 seconds remaining.

The victory snapped a three-game losing skid for Moncton.

Labelle's goal extended his goal-scoring streak to six games, the longest active goals streak in the QMJHL.
