#LAKings Game 55: McLellan’s Shortest Postgame Presser of the Season (MayorsManor)

0 6

Every coin has two distinct sides. Tonight’s Kings games in Colorado left two equally divergent options on the table. There was either nothing to say about a 6-0 blowout loss — that had the Avs up 2-0 before the Kings had even recorded a shot on goal — or plenty needed to be said about it.
After the final horn sounded, Kings coach Todd McLellan shared the following comments:
On what he wants to see from the team in Game 56 to end the season on a high note
We need an effort; we need a group of guys that actually care about finishing the season, individual pride. It’s not too much to ask a group to work for 60 minutes. We might not have the skill, we may not have the quality of team that our opponents had tonight, and the same group tomorrow night. We have a lot more in us than we showed, it’s quite disappointing.
On how much weight he is going to put on the response tomorrow to judge character
Yes, it is important.
On his comments from the other day, regarding wanting to monitor the fatigue factor before selecting how to use his goalies in the second-half of the back-to-back games
[Troy] Groesnick will play.
On what he wished he saw from his team tonight
The first period, the second period, the third period, execution, a little more consideration for teammates when it comes to effort. I could go on and on, you can write a book about it. I’m wasting my time here.
