Clippers vs. Cowichan Valley Capitals

0 18

Clippers play the Cowichan Valley Capitals again but this time they are the home team at 7 pm in Weyerhaeuser Arena.

The Clippers are 2-0 after defeating the Victoria Grizzlies 4-3 and the Cowichan Capitals 5-2. They are tied in the Island Division Pod standings with Victoria at 4 points, but have only played 2 games to Victoria’s 3 games.

So far in two games played, they have had nine players scoring goals. Local Nanaimo player #17 Luke Lavery is leading in points for the Clippers with a goal and two assists. He is closely followed by #7 Kai Daniels, #27 Trevor LeDonne, #15 Jaeger Murdock, #53 Jack O’Brien and #13 Michael Palandra with two points each.

On getting back to play #27 Captain Trevor LeDonne said, “It definitely feels great to be back playing some games, we’ve been waiting a long time for this and it has been great so far.” He also thinks, “the guys have been gelling great, it definitely helps that we’ve been together for a while before jumping into games so I think that has helped for sure.”

On tonight’s game he feels, “We just need to stick to our game plan and focus on what we need to do and if we do so we will have success most nights. Cowichan is a hard working team so anytime we take a shift off they definitely can strike from anywhere. As long as we stick to what we do best we will be great.”
